Post Game Jam Roadmap


Updates are temporarily paused while the RPG Maker 2025 Game Jam is undergoing the judging stage. I do plan on continuing development after the Jam is over.

Short term:

I am finalizing the boss fight for SLIME'S CALM ISLAND. This will lead to picking up the gate keys: BEAST'S DRY STEPPE. Since gate keys can be mixed and matched, this will open up multiple possible fields (and later dungeons) to explore such as BEAST'S DRY ISLAND or SLIME'S CALM STEPPE.

I'm not super happy with the Hub Town, as I needed to get it out the door before the Jam was over. I will probably rework it and give it more personality. I also plan on having a Guild House or Private Quarters zone where the guildmates can be interacted with and push the story. As the story continues, guildmates will have "real life" obligations come up and will need to log off for a time leading to having different combinations available from time to time. This also means I need to introduce the rest of the crew that I had created but held back for the demo. I also want to spend more time giving each class/character a more defined and unique playstyle.

Mid term:

Give more lore and background to the in-universe game and your guildmates. 

I had originally planned on the Relic system to have learnable and equipable passives similar to FF9 and will introduce a points system for that. Higher tier Runes will give more powerful abilities but will have longer cooldowns that could last over multiple battles emulating the style of FF11's "2-hour" and other long recast abilities. Speaking of which, each class will unlock class specific versions of these as well when hitting certain leveling milestones.

Longer term:

Finish adding the other planned gate keys. For the first part of the game, I am implementing 5 each of the different gate keys. This would result in 5x5x5 = 125 possible map combinations to explore. I will also have special trial/raid gate keys that use a separate system for opening unique maps that serve as the capstones for each act/patch/expansion.
